Emily Powrie
MA, Theatre & Performance
Emily Powrie holds a B.A. in Theatre from the University at Buffalo and an A.S. in Theatre Arts from Niagara County Community College. At both institutions she was able to explore all aspects of theatre on and off stage. Her select performance credits include Sally Bowles in Cabaret (NCCC), as well as roles in Graceland, The Penelopiad, The Music Man, Anything Goes, and Cinderella. Also an aspiring designer, she is excited to start off her graduate career as set designer for Jacklyn Backhaus’ Men On Boats, directed by Eero Laine, opening October 2017 at UB. In Buffalo, and for Road Less Traveled Productions, she has served as Assistant to the Set Designer Lynne Koscielniak for the production of last season’s The Mother Fu**** with the Hat, and will serve as Associate Set to Designer to Lynne for the spring 2018 production of Disgraced. Emily is excited to continue her studies in Theatre and Performance at UB where she looks forward to exploring design through an actor’s lens.
