Mary C. Schnepf is a dancer, choreographer, designer and writer with an interest in multi-disciplinary approaches to narrative and abstract dance with a focus in exploring the Jungian shadow archetype. She earned her BS in Theater Design at Buffalo State College and her MAH in Film & Performance at the University at Buffalo while completing internships at Artpark (Musical Theatre) and NBC (Late Night with Conan O’Brien). Her performance credits include roles with Configuration Dance Theatre, Neglia Ballet Artists, Greater Niagara Ballet Company, National Ballet of Canada, Red Thread Theatre and Torn Space Theater. In 2014, she founded the contemporary ballet troupe Ballet ex Machina which continues to perform in the WNY area. She is interested in research involving dance in culture, dance and cognition, and dance science. In addition to her MFA, Mary is also studying to take the Diploma examination in the Cecchetti Method of ballet.
